Limited Capacity full

The Graphic Novel genre is the most popular genre of books checked out of the elementary school library. What is the attraction? Is it really (gulp!) reading material? Come join a team of reading specialists and a school librarian who decided to capitalize on this genre to show classroom teachers how to incorporate graphic novels into exciting, rigorous lesson plans to engage students and increase literacy fluency. Attendees to this collaborative work session will have access to ready-made lesson plans, will experience modeling of plans in whole/small group reading scenarios and will leave with new ideas and resources to share with their own school teams. I'm always looking for ways to share new ideas and concepts with my elementary age students. My greatest joy is to see those light bulb moments happen so students become #lifelonglearners and #lifelongreaders! Talk to me about what you're doing in your library and classroom!
